Gemstone and glass bead strands perfectly sized for bracelets!
We have started offering Bracelet StrandsTM. Half-strand lengths just right for making bracelets. They average 6", so with the clasp and a few accent or spacer beads, you have a 7-8.5" bracelet with little "extra." You can make two different styles for the price of one! Many strands have enough to make matching earrings.
We originally opened as "Eclectia Hobbies" but soon changed that after all it brought in were skateboards and people looking for R/C stuff. We renamed the shop "PUGDOG's Rock & Bead Shop" to emphasize it's main targeting. But, we still had a classic model kits, and really good Sci-Fi vehicle section. Also, we had dollhouses, pre-built and kits, and offered a dollhouse repair service. Thoughout the summer of 2005, we'll be expanding the hobby materials we carry, mostly in accessories and tools, largely by request, and hopefully have a really nice selection before the Christmas holidays.
Most of our customers are extremely happy with our prices, especially for the quality of the gemstones they get for them.
Some people will always believe the grass is greener, the deal is better, or the prices lower by buying somewhere else. We can't please everyone all the time. We are not magicians.
But, we do do offer great beads you can put your hands on, match to your EXACT specifications (size or color), at great prices and extraordinary value. We believe we have the best selection, best value, and best quality of beads in town, and we dare you to compare. Stop by, and we'll tell you where all the other bead stores are, and if we have them, even give you their business cards. We *KNOW* you'll be back. (But you must stop in, we don't offer that information on-line or by email - fair is fair!)
Coming in from out of town? Stop by, look around, and ask us where the other shops are in town. Check them out. We're open Sunday Noon to 3pm, so you can come on back and shop with us.
On top of that, we offer several discount schedules, for large buyers and/or repeat buyers. We offer a Beader Bonus Bucks card, and other discounts taken at the register. We also have wholesale discounts, bulk and pre/special order discounts, and are willing to work with you to meet your special needs. No two beaders are alike!
We've recently changed our pricing methods so you can more easily figure your own discounts. Prices now reflect full & fair retail value of the bead strands by price groups (rather than a pre-discounted price), and a discount schedule will apply to both total order volume, and to coded color groups. Visit BeadBanter.com or stop by the shop for more.
We are often told we have *GREAT* prices, and even some underpricing. Of course, we hear those whispers "I can get this cheaper on-line" all the time. That may be so, but that on-line company can't hand your your order NOW, let you choose exactly WHICH strands you want, or even allow you to pick out just the exact beads that fit your project. They can't walk you through a new skill, or bail you out on a Friday evening by staying open late -- just for you -- so you can pick up that item you ran short of in the last minutes before for your show tomorrow. We can. And our regular customers appreciate that more and more each day.
Need a simple, effective fundraiser that will bring your group together, generate great profits for YOU not the fundraising company, and offer a product people just can't refuse? Talk to us about our customized key chains and zipper pulls. They take about 5 minutes to make, and sell everywhere for up to $5. Why split the profits with another company when you can make them yourself, and keep it all? Kids love them! They are great for school sprit, birthday parties, scout troups, and almost any event you want to have a memorable gift, or need a quick and easy fundraiser for. You can make them on the spot! School groups can set up at sports events, and for $3.50 make them to order.

We are starting to figure out what we are doing with this site (and a few others). Keep an eye peeled, and check the other sites listed. HobbyWire.com and PittsburghHobbies.com will be the two main sites.
Coming soon! For now, please visit the PittsburghHobbyForums.com for ideas and things to do with your kids, family, friends or just by yourself.
